Ok Lawyers, why is Sandusky out on bail?

More than 40 counts of child abuse and the guy is out on bail? I know you can't imprison someone normally without bail but aren't there exceptions granted if they pose a grave threat to the community at large? If so, how could this case not fall in the category? This case disgusts me and to see that this guy gets to hang out at home is just too much. Thank you lawyers.

Pat,

I'm certainly no lawyer, but I do agree with you 100%.

I'm also no lawyer but it has been clear to me for many years that the "justice system" does not work the same for everyone. If you have extreme wealth or extreme fame chances are you will get preferential treatment by the "justice system". 40 counts of child abuse/molestation and he's chillin' at home nice and safe. How pathetic.

If He did what is alleged with the 10 yr old boy in the shower, and that was my son, he would be best off in jail. It almost makes me sick thinking about it.

To answer Pat's original question, the judge that determined Sandusky's bail also served on his charity. I think she has since removed herself from the case.

As of today, the charity no longer exists. It was shut down.

He'll get to see what it's like in the prison showers. Personally I think he should have his hands cut off and castrated or better yet put to death.
