1905-15 WFD Artist Signed PC (Anglo American PC Co.)

Believe it or not, this PC is listed in the 1998 reference book, Sports Postcard Price Guide, by J.L. Mashburn, pg 86. The entry only shows one PC for this particular artist, WFD, titled "Putting it Over," and dates to 1905-15, but the card and the listing clearly shows it numbered #123. I would like to think there are others in this series, but don't know. The Anglo-American PC Co. had other unrelated PC Series as well, with at least one other baseball series that does have multiple subjects.

The 1998 price guide lists your PC as going for $25-30 for VG, or $30-35 for EX condition.

Very cool item! Would love to know what city / team the "C" stands for!

looks like a college player

reminds me of the artwork in the s21 and s22 silks of college athletes--similar anyway.

Just an artist signed generic postcard that I don't believe represents any actual team. I've seen the card numerous times over the years.

I would wager the team was Columbia University based on the blue. Many of those Earl Christy series postcard sets of colleges had Columbia in blue.
