A friend of mine is hoping someone can identify this signature.
I'm definitely stumped. Can anybody please help?
Sorry in advance for the ball cube distraction. I didn't take the photo...
Thanks!

I think it was because AMC showed 'History of the World Part I' a few days ago. :D

My pleasure!
I would imagine that would be worth a little bit to niche collectors. Hines was a pretty popular actor, and I have to think he's rare on a baseball.

Have you ever watched his unbelievable tap dancing? He's one of the greatest of all time...

BTW, I used tonight as an opportunity to share Gregory Hines' tap excellence with my 11 year old competitive dancer daughter. She was blown away at what she saw on youtube!!!

Classic!

Scott, Hines was an extremely talented man! I really should have used the term "performer" rather than "actor." If your daughter is into tap then she could certainly learn a lot by watching him. Check out Savion Glover too, another amazing talent who actually learned from Hines, among others. And to bring it back full circle, Glover's great grandfather was Negro Leaguer Dick Lundy. ;)

Derek,
I've seen Savion Glover dance once and I do recall he is a really terrific tapper. I'll show my daughter him as well. Thanks for the tip.
I never knew of the Dick Lundy connection.

When I shared your info about Gregory Hines to my friend, he exclaimed "Amazing!" and then he remembered that he had once met Hines at a Toronto Blue Jays game and had him sign the ball for him.
Thanks again for your help!
