Why isnt it assist when you set up 2 made FTs.

Its annoying when i see an 'assist' on a contested 3 point shot..yet if you pass the ball to a guy who has an easy lay up but for a hard fall knocking it to the ground and taking his legs out while clamping his arms..and then he makes both FTs you dont get the assist they should change that rule

theres an announcer that says that on TNT as well ..the former Knick coach but oh well....

Well, nobody is stopping anybody from compiling that as a separate stat, but I think it's a little late in the game to figure out new ways to break old records.

What if the guy hits one of two, is that a 1/2 an assist?

Seems like the assist would actually be with the defender who committed the foul.

Hockey equivalent would be awarding an assist to the player who sent his teammate in on a breakaway, got tripped from behind, and then scored on the ensuing penalty shot.

nah needs to make both shots......cause all baskets are worth at least 2 points that get assists..so the one out of 2 is handled easily....

if i guy misses a wide open jumper you dont get the assist...so you also lose if the guy only makes one FT.
