T206 Jefferson Burdick Stamp

1 Attachment(s)
I know this subject has been discussed before, and have found many threads doing a search. A lot of very good information to be found. Although, there are many examples of his stamp (I even own a T36 Auto / Mulford), I could not find one on a T206.

I won this M. Brown / Chicago in the lot in the recent B&L Auction (great auction, BTW), and was wondering if anyone else owns, has owned, or has seen another Jeff B. T206 ?????

I have a few on non sports cards, but not on a T206. That's pretty cool in my opinion. And only $1 so good pickup Scott.

I've owned a couple of T201s with Burdick's stamp, and still have this one, which is also signed by Lefty Leifield. But, never a T206. Cool card!

I agree those are very cool. However, I can never get my head around how any adult collector, of any time period, would ever think it was a good idea to deface a collectible with a stamp. Burdick was clearly sensitive to condition, yet took no pause in slapping an " I own this" stamp on his cards. Kids....sure.
With that being said, I'd love to own one!

Burdick never liked any monetary association with cards. A stamp on back was no big deal.

Burdick unquestionably stamped cards. I saw some of them at the Met when I was researching my book. That is how I first realized a card I had was a former Burdick-owned piece: I recognized the stamp.

If stamping a card blows your mind think of this: Burdick pasted down every card he donated to the Met.

Has anyone had any success at getting a TPG to acknowledge the provenance on a holder?

Always enjoyed that one Adam.

Here's one of mine with just the ornate stamp:
