Value?

I have a 2010 topps national chicle Albert pujols jersey card. Black umbrella back. Only out of 25 prints.

Anyone know what this might be worth?

Pujols

Less in St Louis now than in 2010.

Kind of hard to tell with cards like this. You could put it on ebay with a high BIN and take best offers to see what comes in....although you would risk getting highlighted in the "best offer sometimes peeve me" thread in the other post war forum :-)

So it's worth less now that he's in LA? Could someone please give me a rough estimate? I've done my research but can't find anything. Thanks in advance.

Est. $20-$25

A 2010 Topps National Chicle Pujols Jersey Card, identical to yours, is listed on eBay right now for $14.68 shipped. So, I would say at the absolute most your card is worth $14.68.

You could also purchase the following 2010 Topps National Chicle Pujols Jersey Card (limited to 199) for $11.99 shipped.

No. Those are the generic ones. Mine is a black umbrella back which means it is one of only 25 prints. There are hundreds of the generic ones.

Did not realize there was more than one type of Pujols jersey card produced with that front. Your card may be a little more valuable then. I would still say at most $20-25 though. There are six other Pujols jersey cards, all with a limited release (25 total), available with buy-it-now prices in the $20-$30 dollar range.

Really nice card by the way. I've always had a soft spot for Pujols (caught my only foul ball off of him). Did you pull it from a pack or get it elsewhere?

acoslor 11-17-2012 03:31 PM

Thanks. Got it from a pack a couple years ago.

Pujols

May be worth more later. He was a hero in St. Louis until he bolted for LA so is less popular there. If you are LA fan you want him in LA uniform. HOF collectors may not care years from now. Hold it

Unfortunately, for the most part, these contrived scarcity modern cards seldom hold much value long term. That is other than extremely short printed auto'd rookies of players that end up being great like Albert. Al may have more experience with them than I.

I gotta side with you on this one, Jeff. Unless it's a rookie, the value of these pretty much peak in the year of release. The further you get from that time, the less demand there is for them. And I don't there's any player good enough to counter that.. Also, don't think that people fall for the serial number stuff anymore. /25 means nothing when the only difference between it and the higher numbered one is some random variation on the back..

However, I also kinda agree with what AL said, but possibly for different reasons. I think this has probably already reached it's floor...I don't think it'll go down any more, BUT you could hope for Pujols to go on some ridiculous tear, and dump it when he's peaking.. Or, a potential change in thinking within the hobby, where either non-rookie cards start to garner attention, or this somehow becomes a must have set(although, I don't see that happening)

A card like that, I would use as trade bait on SCF for something for my PC. I think you'll be disappointed with the price if you try to sell.

Pulls

I think we all agree it will not now or ever fund an early retirement ;)

acoslor 11-18-2012 04:59 PM

Haha sounds like I'll just be holding onto this card. Thanks for the help.
