The other Game 7 prediction

Posted By: Chris B.
Ridiculous thread - dont you realize there is no baseball of any importance played outside of the Northeast?

Despite being a lifelong Cards fan, I cant pick Suppan over Clemens. In addition, I fear the wrath of Scott if I post anything indicating I expect a Cardinal victory.

Astros 5, Cards 2

Posted By: runscott
I predicted Cardinals vs Yankees, and I'm glad to be at least half-wrong. Wish I had something vintage to tie this thread back to the board focus, but the Astros just aren't vintage!

Posted By: Gary B.
...or the Cardinals. Hmmmmm - I hereby predict with a great deal of self-assurance that either the Astros or Cardinals will win. A hundred bucks bet for anyone who thinks otherwise. Any takers?

Posted By: qualitycards
I am a fan of Clemens and its always a pleasure to watch him....
BUT I don't think that 2 games on back to back nights for game 7 will have both favored home teams losing. So with that, Cardinals 6 - Astros 3

Posted By: runscott
...since the Astros just notified me that I've won a World Series lottery drawing for two tickets in Houston. I have to pay for them, but they're mine.

The other Game 7 prediction

Posted By: runscott
I would have bought two tickets to the Tuesday night game and offered one free to any board member in Houston who would have put me up and carted me around. Oh well.

No bats tonight and the Cardinals played phenomenal baseball - LaRussa is the best. I'm looking forward to the World Series.

Posted By: Gary B.
but only because I REALLY want the Red Sox, and the Cards will be a tougher team to beat.

Sorry for the loss, Scott. I'm actully amazed they won 3, and it was close on 4...

Posted By: runscott
I expected the Cardinal bats to stay hot, even in Houston. But it was a good run and the World Series should be a classic.

Time for vintage football season!

The other Game 7 prediction

Posted By: Gary B.
I turned to my wife after Clemens gave up a lead-off hit in the 6th and said, "They need to get him out of there." Even in the 5th the Carinals were hitting some long balls that could have easily gone just a hair further and been homers. I could see he was starting to lose it, but apparently the Astros manager didn't, and it cost them the game...

The other Game 7 prediction

Posted By: runscott
at how long it took before Garner started Oswalt warming up. But I admit that I trusted Clemens to get through the inning - he had two strikes on Pujols with two outs, so he was almost home-free. Still, Garner should have seen what Gary mentioned and had Oswalt ready for the 6th, prior to Pujols even coming to the plate.

It's worth repeating - LaRussa managed perfectly last night, as he almost always does.
