PSA group sub for bobbyw8469 - PROBLEM!

I have the cards back from PSA!!! Someone didn't follow directions and include their Net54 handle, so I have no idea who these cards belong to, as I can't read their signature on the letter. There are 18 of them! If these are your cards, and you can describe them, PLEASE PM ME!!!

I assume you would have a private message and/or thread in which it was started. Can you use the process of elimination and figure out who it is?

Would they not have obtained your information via a private message or e-mail? Can you not go back and figure out who it is?

So you're saying someone never communicated with you via email and just mailed you 18 cards with no identifying information and no return address on the envelope? This defies logic.

And how would he know where to send them unless he was told.

Your next group sub may be considerably smaller.;)

bobbyw8469 05-24-2015 09:32 AM

Not everyone follows the rules on group subs. The main rule that would override all the others is AT BARE MINIMUM, put your net54 handle on the paperwork. That way, when the cards pop, I am able to send a quick PM saying that I have the cards back. The people that do it properly, have their net54 handle, their real name and return shipping address, and a phone number.

Sorry for the omission in communication, but I had 18 T214 Ty Cobb's.

And how many submitters save all the packages from their submitters when they get them?? I get multiple packages from many different people. Asking the submitter to do extra work is already hard enough. We are doing favors by doing the group subs. That is like taking a bunch of cards and just dumping them on the counter at the USPS post office and saying "Ship these for me" (I've seen this happen so don't laugh). The submitters should follow the rules....they are there for a reason. No, I don't save all the emails....I delete them. I save the slips of paper for a reason. The info should be on there. Period.

Bobby, you might want to check the "trash" folder in your E-mail then.

I don't think anyone in this thread is asking you to do the work - this is one isolated incident and if you had the e-mails and/or private messages then you wouldn't have had to post this thread and would have been able to figure it out yourself.

Hi Bobby,

I sent you a PM about the 9 cards I sent to you. I hope I'm not the reason for your post. If I was, I truly apologize. I really appreciate you taking the time to send these in for me.

Seems as though this should have been sorted out as soon as the cards arrived not now

arc2q 05-24-2015 06:20 PM

Forgive me for belaboring this. I'm not part of this sub but since it was brought up here I am curious and confused as well. I think everyone is having trouble understanding the issue. So the person didn't give their Net54 handle. But you have their address right? You kept everyone's address and email when they sent you a submission, right? did everyone pay by check or PayPal? If so, again, process of elimination should work pretty well. Even if you (astoundingly) deleted all communication and threw away all addresses, your bank should have a record of checks online, and certainly PayPal has a record of who paid you. Or did they pay in cash?

Maybe you've figured it out by now. If so, please share how you sleuthed it.

Nope...I had nothing.....I had a typewritten sheet of paper with a signed signature I couldn't decipher. To figure out who it was, I had to figure out how much the sub should have been and check my bank records for the months of April/March (in case they paid by check), and my PayPal records for the same months. Once I found a dollar amount close, then I got the name. I then told Leon my dilemma, and with his real name, I was able to get his Net54 handle.

I have not had the cards that long. Seems like there are a bunch of armchair quarterbacks in this thread that have no idea how intensive these subs can be. That is why it is so important for the rules to be followed. Everyone has rules. If you do something as simple as not signing your name on the PSA form, PSA doesn't just shove them on through. Your cards go into "hold" for a period of time until everything gets situated. The only "rule" I have is that a slip of paper is included with the sub stating what the cards are, and proper info for contacting people. I don't even care if the cards aren't in CS1's!!! I remove them from the top loaders that people have subbed them in and put them in CS1's at MY expense!!! Not even PSA would do that! I am not even upset at the subber for not having the info right, as he is new to all this. I am more upset of the flippant remarks from some of the members, who really have no idea what they are talking about.

ledsters 05-24-2015 07:09 PM

I really cannot figure out why people, who were not a part of the submission, are even posting in this thread. Bobby simply was trying to locate a member, who he lost contact with. Why do some outsiders have to muddy the water?

Rob D. 05-24-2015 07:26 PM

It's a shame when bad things happen to good people.

Agreed.

Because a few people offered advice on how to figure out the missing name and the OP acted defensive and did not provide any details on exactly why he was unable to determine the missing name.

But you're right, I'm not part of the sub and it wasn't my money so does not matter what I think at all.

Exactly. The OP was not looking for advice, just the submitter. People who are not part of the sub should just butt out.
