I didnt have any trouble with phillippe, though I still havent found one in a condition that Im satisfied with. I dont think Wilste is overly tough. Waddell and Brown are marginally difficult, but not as much as Chance IMO.

But of the 15 I had a Matty, Wagner and these five. Not bad for a tough group of cards. Posted By: <b>JK</b><p>While we talk about difficult cards with this set, it should be kept in perspective. Ive already owned and sold two coveleskies, three cards of pastorious, and two phillippes. The toughest card, by far, was Chance. As for that card, Ive got a psa 4 that Im looking to upgrade. Prior to getting this card, I had a chance to by a psa 2 (or sgc 30, cant recall), but the price was too high for the grade.

Mine was won in a mastro auction and has a small spot of paperloss on the reverse (presents very nice, but overgraded in my opinion). Unfortunately for me, I want all my e93s graded by sgc, it wont cross to a 50 and thus, I need a replacement.<br /><br />Now, ask me about my young <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14>

Posted By: <b>quan</b><p>none of them are that tougher than the rest in the set (like coombs/vaughn for e98s). instead of focusing on scarcity for the set, you're better off trying to find cards that are notoriously o/c (chance, cobb, matty, etc) perfectly centered. i think jim will agree:<br /><br />there's nothing more pretty <br />than a perfectly centered matty.

Posted By: <b>JimB</b><p>Quan,<br />You are right that Matty, Cobb, and Chance are notoriously tough to find well centered. I would add Plank to that list as well. We know that the set was originally produced on one sheet, so in theory none should be more difficult than any other. But some players may have been more popular and saved more commonly than others. There is no doubt that Brown, Evers, and Chance are the toughest to find in nice shape - meaning Ex or better. In Ex/Mt or better the whole set is very tough, but those three are tougher than the rest.<br />JimB

Posted By: <b>t206King</b><p>Yeah Matty is a hard card to find in high grade. <br />I find the E93 set is really under rated, comepared to t206, the prices for the e93 cards should be higher way i see it. but supply and demand i guess comes into it..... but there are alot less of these cards out there. i dont get it <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14>

Posted By: <b>quan</b><p>check out some of the prices in hunt for nice(r) grade e93s, then your opinion will change. My personal feeling is caramels in lowgrade are not that tough to find, but when you go EX and up (or even vgex+ for some) you will get a HUGE premium because not many survive in those grades.

Posted By: <b>JK</b><p>I think you will also see that caramels sell for more than their t206 counterparts (in most cases) in the mid-grades as well. Of course, the higher grades do get a tremendous premium.

Posted By: <b>Scot Reader</b><p><br />If you believe the pop reports there are about 10X as many examples of a common T206 subject as a common subject in the major E sets (e.g. E90-1, E92, E93, E95, E96). So clearly it is tougher to find a nice E card than a nice T card. And demand for the major E sets is almost as high as it is for T206. When I look at an E card and try and figure out an appropriate price, I generally ask what a T206 of the same (or comparable) player two grades higher would fetch. For example, for an E93 McGraw in PSA 4, I ask what a T206 McGraw would fetch in PSA 6. This usually seems to put me in the general ballpark for E card prices--although obviously it does not work for Plank or Wagner!
