tale of two rarities

Posted By: barrysloate
Hi- Just wanted to inform the board that I sent out a catalog brochure on Friday with what I'll call a new concept- a two lot auction. But two beauties at that: an N28 Allen & Ginter advertising poster, and one of the finest known T-206 Eddie Planks. They will go online on Monday Oct 11 at www.sloateauction.com. Auction will close on October 28. I know these two items don't fit into everyone's budget, but they're fun to look at and I'm sure a few network54er's will hop aboard. They are both on the market for the very first time and come from families outside the hobby. Look forward to hearing from some of you during the auction. Regards, Barry Sloate

Posted By: Ben
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoc of belief, it was the epoc of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only."

-Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
