Anyone send in an older PSA graded T206 to have the correct back variation added?

I have a T206 that was graded years ago, before they started labeling the correct back information on the slab. The card below is simply labeled as a "T206 Sweet Caporal" where is should now be labeled as "T206 S. Caporal 350-460/42 OP". I know I can resubmit it for reholdering, but not sure how a relabeling sub should work. Would this be considered a mechanical error even though it isn't? Will I still be charged a grading/reholder fee? I guess I can call them and ask, but wanted to see if anyone else has had to send in theirs for label correction.

My belief is if you ask for a reholder, they will replace the label with a new lighthouse label and the now standard identification. I doubt they would consider it a mechanical error since that is how they labeled them when that card was graded.

I spoke to psa customer service. I was told to email them the information with front and back scans. Their research team would look into it and let me know if they will cover it or if I have to cover the fee.

Cool, please let us know the outcome. Thanks in advance.

I agree with DeanH3; will cost you a reholder since it's not really an error on their part. Otherwise they'd be on the hook for millions of reholders.

Looks like this was way before they identified backs. So you will have to pay. That is the policy if it was holdered before they identified back variations it is not a mechanical error and you will have to pay. This has been discussed on this forum a number of times previously.

Not sure why you want to have it reholdered.
It will most likely cost you what the card is worth after shipping costs.
It might not even come back the same grade.
Leave it as is. It already has the factory brand SC on the label. Just not the factory #.

Depends on how many he has to send. If he can send 10 in, it would cost around $100 including return shipping.
If he sends in for reholder on this card, it would go from Pop 14, 53 Higher to Pop 1, 4 Higher. I could easily see the value of this card going up $20 or more by changing pop like that.
