Good Bye Blue "Rick" Monday......hello Sacramento?!?
Although I'm born and raised on the east coast, I've always had a soft spot for the A's for some reason. Maybe it was all those Highway to Heaven episodes I used to watch. I can also say I've been to the Coliseum, around 15 years ago, second game of the season. It was........an experience :(
I didn't see that anyone had brought this up: Sacramento A's* *For 3 years at least. So that brings me to a couple of questions? Anyone here excited about this? Live near there, gonna take in a game? |
I was hoping they would move back to Philadelphia. But, alas, that town can't support 2 MLB teams.
My thoughts are similar to Memphis when the NFL Houston Oilers moved to Nashville. They played in Memphis at the Liberty Bowl while the Nashville stadium was being built. Everyone wondered why nobody went to the games. |
Moving to a 14,000 seat ballpark. Luckily the A’s only averaged 10,000 a game last year and would probably have a hard time winning a AAA title, let alone compete in the AL West.
I’m sure the fans of Sacramento would be happy to come out to the ballpark to see the stars of opposing teams in the intimate setting of a Minor League ballpark however. |
It's over 100 degrees daily for much of July to September. I work there three weeks in July every year and it's miserable.
