I agree with Howard. The way the corners are frayed looks right.

Been through the washing machine probably in a kid's pocket. Been there, done that!

Looks like a lot of my cards..

Thank you for the feedback guys. I struck a deal with the seller. I'm happy to add this to my collection. Its a card ive always wanted, and now I'm kicking myself for not acquiring it before he passed, as the price has really increased. And I assume that the prices won't go down, but gradually increase

I'm afraid I'll have to be the lone dissenting opinion here. To me, with all the wear that is showing, the edges and creases should show more discoloration due to dirt, oil, etc. They look almost white.

In my experience, most photos make the borders of vintage cards appear lighter than they actually are. I asked about that a while back in a post here - apparently most phone camera software is designed to sharpen color contrasts. Some sellers may Photoshop too, but my guess is that's not the case with this particular listing ;).

I have a 54 Junior Gilliam card in almost the exact condition. And I believe, as stated in an earlier post, that it went through the washing machine. I love it, and the ball player, and would never trade or sell it.
