Posted By: paulstratton
It seems this board is dying on the vine, kind of a shame really. In an effort to contribute a hopefully halfway interesting thread, let's see how many cards of US Open champions we can put together. Should be an interesting week with Woods coming off a massive layoff.

I'm reading "The Greatest Game Ever Played" right now, which has been a great read so far. Can't wait to finish, then to see the movie...

Posted By: Mike D.
Great idea. This is considered Bobby Jones rookie card and 1926 was the 2nd of his 4 U.S. Open championships with 2 runner-up finishes in an 8 year span. Simply amazing! One of my favorite Bobby Jones cards. I've posted my 15 card Bobby Jones basic set on the SGC registry for those interested in checking it out go here (http://www.sgccardregistry.com/registry.aspx?cat=5). It is the last set selection in the "Other" category.

Posted By: leon
Tiger wins so much my wife and I almost don't want to see him win again. He is a nice guy and deserves every bit of accolades he gets. He is simply the best golfer today and most likely ever...and that is saying a lot.....(only time will tell about the "ever" part but it almost seems like a foregone conclusion)......So do his cards go up in value when he wins?

I can't bring myself to start collecting modern cards. Maybe one day I will - but for now I will stick to vintage golf.

The 2001 to 2005 issues are packed with autos and have outstanding photos of memorable moments.

It was a great effort by Upper Deck and only time will tell how collector's of the future will look back on this run (the Tiger Run).

I know nothing about the golf ones but if the guide says it's that much then so be it...the baseball ones aren't anywhere near that much....I have 4-5 and paid about $10-$20 ea......This must be one of the few series where Golf will be mulitples of value of the baseball counterparts...

Posted By: Scott Sarian
FWIW I have a Kelloggs Pep of Lloyd Mangrum in PSA 9 OC (pop report shows 8 total graded - 2 PSA3's, 2 PSA5's, 1 PSA6, 1 PSA7, 1 PSA8 and my PSA 9OC).

SMR has the PSA7 listed as $400 and the PSA8 listed as $900, with no PSA9 price. I bought mine on ebay maybe 2 years ago for maybe $125 tops. Not that sale prices from 2 years ago would be totally valid for golf cards right now, but just wanted to add my two cents....
