Elp

With the passing of Keith Emerson this past March and now Greg Lake this month, I came across this early video (1970??) during my you tube searches on the band.
This band opened my teenage eyes (ears) to different styles of music and made me a huge fan of progressive rock.
RIP guys, you'll be missed.

ELP In Burlington!

Mr Doug!
I will alway remember who "turned me on" to Emerson, Lake &Palmer...it was you!
I recall Terrence the Turtle and J.B. who curiously asked one very late night " But where are the words?";)

And of course the concert in Burlington when we sat up front and were nearly blown away with the speakers so close! It was my daughter's first concert (actually, if you recall, she wasn't actually born yet, my wife was still expecting!)

That little girl is now 23, and 2/3 of ELP are gone to the great concert in the sky.
Oh how the years go by!

I listened to Tarkus and Black Moon just a few days ago, upon hearing of Greg Lake's passing. I have to say..."it hurts!"

I miss you dude. You are a good friend.
I hope you are doing well.

Tomorrow I am going to put on "Karn Evil" and think back!

My brother exposed me to both ELP and Yes.

Wonderful memories.

Any Jetro Tull fans? How 'bout Todd Rundgren?

Ah, the Glory Days of Vinyl!
