Cashing in a retirement account in preparation? :D

I hope this signing is comparable to his last where items were in the $200 range. I would like Pujols but the $500 price tag kept his signature off my ball. I will know pricing today 5pm est.

I remembered putting this away a few years ago saying that it would be nice if it had some signatures on it. So if affordable I will be getting 2 items signed.

OUCH!!! $475 to add his signature to a 500HR ball. $300 is basic fee for a ball Then $150 if ball has more than 5 other signatures. Shipping insurance etc. On the other end $200 for a signature on a card.

dgo71 10-12-2018 04:32 PM

$200 on cards, but an additional $100 for RCs.

I received an email from Mill Creek they are accepting Griffey items as well. Same price structure. I thought I was ok when zI saw the $300 fee for a ball, then the dropdrowns for the extra charges. Placed the order for the ball still debating over the poster.

Interesting to see that personalization is not an option here. Why would they refuse to personalize an item, even if you're willing to pay extra for it?

keithsky 10-13-2018 03:36 PM

No wonder they keep charging these fees cause people keep paying them.

Nothing says This is for my collection and not for resale Quite like personalization. But less and less players do it. More and more players have rules.

What's Brady got against Roman numerals? That's a weird one.

Perhaps the prices are in Roman Numerals, as they are too large for the Decimal system.

$949 for a normal sized flat? Are you F'n serious? Well, at least it makes Montana and Namath look a little better.

shelly 10-14-2018 09:48 AM

They know that they got you by the balls. No pun intended. So long as you are willing to go along with this crap it will never stop.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

$599 for a card is cheaper than I’ve seen him elsewhere.

They are probably easier to screw up. I don't know that I would recall the Roman numerals for Super Bowls off of the top of my head. At that price, I'd imagine he is trying to avoid any mistakes.

Players at a signing are handed an item and any inscription is written out on paper and placed in front of them to insure no mistakes. BUT..that takes time and private signings are all about time and money. So I guess that is why some shy away. And that changes over time get a player early in his career and they are much more accommodating. But as this becomes more and more like a business players treat it like a business. I cannot say I fault them for it.
