How About Those Pats!

Posted By: Thomas
Congrats Patriots!!!! I'm a Cowboys fan...but it was nice to see the underdog beat the big bad Rams...on the last play of the game no less. The kicker or the Pats defense should've been named MVP though.

Thomas

How About Those Pats!

Posted By: Scott Forrest
I get sick of hearing the radio talk show hosts saying the Patriots didn't have a chance. Great finish to the pro football season, first Beano Cook guarantees the Steelers go to the Super Bowl, then the Raiders get screwed by a stupid rule, now this!

How About Those Pats!

Posted By: jay behrens
I am a night owl and listen to late night sports talk all the time and most of the late night guys were high on the Pats winning outright and betting on the under. The betting guys were all taking the Pats and the under play but they thought the Rams would win by 7 pts or so.

Jay

The 55 over/under was a joke and I am kicking myself because I wanted the under/Pat's as a parlay.

How About Those Pats!

Posted By: Mike
The Rams are now "The Greatest Choke on Turf". And the MVP should have been the replay official who handed the Pats a win against the RAIDERS. Imagine 30-40 yrs from now, your grandkids sitting around you and asking " Grandpa, just how good were those 2001 Patriots?" " Oh let me tell you, they were a powerhouse". Just doesn't sound right.

How About Those Pats!

Posted By: Vintagecatcher
Having lived in New England all my life, I have seen some wonderful moments. Bobby Orr and the Bruins winning the Stanley Cup. The image of Orr soaring through the air as he scores the goal. Carton Fisk's homerun in game six of the World Series. Now I can add "The Field Goal" to the list.

I have also seen some heartbreaking loses like the 1986 World Series against the Mets. My hand still hurts where I pounded the floor after the ball went through Buckner's legs.

It also seems like Boston's teams have gotten more than their share of the short end of the stick with regards to "questionable" calls over the years.

I thought the officiating of this Super Bowl game was "criminal!" (That's why the refs wear stripes, because they should be behind bars.) Was I the only one who watched the Rams offensive line continually hold!

The only thing worse than the officials was the announcers. Madden should also have "retired" with his friend Pat. It was nice to see him back peddle after the Patriots had the brass to go for the win.

It was a nice team win!

How About Those Pats!

Posted By: Julie Vognar
I'm sure almost everybody watching was surprised when the Pats actually went for it(wishing, of course, that they would). I think Madden is often clear, concise, and was only saying what everyone expected--fortunately, wrongly! Julie
