Albert Spalding might not be where we think
This story is on the internet now.
Frank Russo, one of the foremost authorities on baseball deaths (http://www.amazon.com/Bury-My-Heart-.../dp/1572438223), received a letter from a woman stating that she found the cremated remains, in a bronze numbered urn, of Albert Spalding in a home she just moved into. Spalding's final wishes had been to scatter his ashes over Point Loma, California. Mr. Russo is going to contact the BB HOF on Monday. |
I have read Frank Russo's book. Frank is no relation to me (though we have the same last name) but I thought it contained some interesting information. When I saw the title of your post, it reminded me of the old Saturday Night Live bit where Chevy Chase reported that " This just in. Generalissimo Francisco Franco remains dead."
