A friend of mine sent me this picture, asking if I knew what they are. They belong to a friend of his.

So, I'm asking for the friend of a friend...

I know that I have seen posts about similar items, but they are not really in my realm of collecting.

Thanx for any info,
Doug

They are either Rittger statues or an imitation. Not really my area either, but I remember the name.

Thank you both. Because google is my friend, I have uncovered a wealth of info and have passed it on.

Thanx again,
Doug

I've seen these over the years with different styles of uniforms and coloring. They generally are priced anywhere from $50-125 each, based on condition, cracks, etc. Sometimes you will see them with just one player and the umpire.

A friend sent me a surprise gift a while back. He saw these figures in an antique shop, but someone had glued them to a piece of quarter-inch shellacked plywood. There is a crack in the back of the neck of the figure on the left. (And personally, I think the placement of the umpire should be in between the players or slightly in front of them.)

I think I'm going to eventually drill a hole in the middle of the wood base and make a lamp out of it.
