New PSA Fees for 2017

I just got an email for PSA's 2017 grading fees:

The biggest changes:
Any card valued over $25K, the grading fee is $1,200

Any card from $10K to $24,999, grading fee is $800

WOW!!

Not that it will ever apply to me, but out of curiosity, what was it before at those price levels?

I wonder what the grading fee was for Cert #00000001.

For the next 11 days it is $700 a card for $10,000 and up in value. Guess PSA really does want their piece. With the increases I wonder if they will now grade it right the first time instead of forcing submitters to do it over and over again.

So what would Dan have to pay to cross his Zinn over to PSA?

Prior to the changes, it was $700 for any card valued over $10,000.

I believe it used to be $500 prior to 01/01/15. Don't quote me though.

It was free because the card was trimmed. :D

I don't care about repercussions. In my opinion it is a scam.

Actually, this is a good deal. If you pay $10 to grade a $100 card, you paid 10% of the cards value for the grading service. If you pay $800 for a $10K card, that is only 8% of the card value, $800 for a $24,999 card is only 3.2% of the card value. For the higher priced cards $1200 for a $25k card is only 5% of the cards value and if you pay $1200 for a $100,000 card it is only 1.2% of the value of the card.

That is a great deal. I plan on submitting all of my $100,000 cards right away so I don't miss out. I will probably put them in a card saver II and a PWE.

A very large piece of integrity.

And in general they do sell for more and that is a shame because SGC does a far better job at grading accurately, without the politics and without having to submit the same card 4 times until they get it right.

I agree SGC does do a much better job and their slabs look way nicer. I sent 119 cards to them today. My main complaint with SGC is their slab get scratched by just looking at them. Not sure if they recently changed them. I joined the Gold Club to take advantage of the $5 specials they do. Any way the slabs I got for their free subs was in a thinner nicer slab.

If anybody has cards their now they are taking all next week off and it does not count as business days on you submission.
