Q: 1967/68 Topps Test Discs - Brooks

2 Attachment(s)
I have a question in regard to the Topps Brooks test discs. I try to keep up with the items that have been for sale in regard to Brooks, especially w/ test issues, and both of the attached photos were once in a past H&S auction. All of these discs pictured were described as '67 proof discs, but are they '67 or are they '68 discs. The one in the SGC holder states '67, but I'd like to know if this is correct or not.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Brooks Disc

Al,

Thanks for the post of you '67 sheet. On your sheet Brooks is facing the other direction so I would assume that the others that I pictured are 68 discs. I'm guessing that both H&S and SGC have it incorrectly as a '67?

Larry,

Thanks for the information on the discs. It just seems strange to me that both the auction house and the grading service, in this instance SGC, both have it incorrect.

It also appears that with the '68's they were produced with a plain white back, and the silver foil type background. Kinda cool to know when looking for these in the future.

Bird is reversed

I guess I should have noticed that the bird was reversed on one of the discs ('68) and not on the other ('67). Now, I wonder why they did that since they had it correct the first time.

Thanks for the detail on the discs Scott.
