For graded cards, always place plastic case between two pieces of thick cardboard....holders can crack more easily than you might think...also, best to put graded card in a graded card sleeve or plastic baggie to avoid unnecessary scratching to the case.

For ungraded cards, for nice grade cards or cards worth more than a buck or so/ea., sleeve them individually and put them in a team bag or a graded card sleeve--graded card sleeves actually work a bit better as they are roomier. From there, slide a toploader (hard case) down the back & front of this pack of sleeved cards and that will provide a hard surface on both ends. If you have used a team bag, your toploaders probably won't fit so put them on the outside of your team bag and use scotch tape to connect the top and bottom loader together around the sides....

If you are selling individual cards, especially $5+ value cards, each card should get it's own sleeve and toploader. From here you put those in a team bag or graded card sleeve (can usually fit 5-10) and it will seal nicely on the top so if cards slide up during transit they can't escape.

In terms of tape, do not go overboard using it. Do not put it directly on the top loader to "stop" a card from sliding up as the top of the card could bump/get stuck on the adhesive. You also don't want the receipient to have to be sawing through loads of tape trying to extract a piece of cardboard.

In terms of shipping, for most domestic locations it will cost you between 1.50-2.00 postage to ship + a few more cents (.25-.50) for packaging supplies, etc. It is importnat that if you are sellling from a set break to offer discounted shipping (en extra .25/ea card one or so) as adding extra cards to the order really won't make your postage go up---i.e. the first card will always cost 1.50-2.00 range but after that the extra "cost" only goes up slightly to add more cards. If you use eBay shipping, they automatically add .19 DC to your order which will protect you in case of a dispute. Insurance is paid by the shipper but you can build that into your shipping cost--I would recommend this for higher dollar 100+ type of sales.

Never use a white envelope as this is universally looked down on and you can't get DC on. To save $ on packages buy in bulk online royalmailers (eBay) http://shop.ebay.com/royalmailers/m...._sop=10&_rdc=1 and you can get a big box of padded envelopes for .20/ea or less. The 4 x 6 are a bit tight but can ship 10 cards an under ok and the 5 x 7 are a little nicer and can allow you to send graded cards and thicker packs with ease.
