The first is a 1941 Eagles pennant that predates their Green uniforms (in 1941 they wore blue and gray. I know REA, Hunts, and I believe Mastro have auctioned them in the past. I thought this one was going to get a little more action, glad it didn't. The thing I like about memorabilia is you can pick items of certain players for fractions of what the cards go for. And as you already know, sometimes the items are much more scarce than many of a player's cards.<br /><br />Mike<br />

I am sure that your LaJoie Scorer is far rarer than any of his cards (including the fabled 1933 Goudey). <br /><br />But I bet it went for a "song", when compared to the Goudey, or even a nice condition Cracker Jack or Caramel Card. Can you even imagine a Nap LaJoie CARD that would surface only once every two years (and how much it would sell for?) <br /><br />Your scorer/fob makes for a neater display piece as well... congrats!

There are Lajoie cards that I would argue are much rarer than the watch fob, but I agree there are no better bargains in this hobby than some of the memorabilia items. I'd much rather have that fob than many of his cards that go for 10x the price.

So now I wind up buying it from the Halper+2 owner. McHale signed the cap inside the sweatband. It is in great shape, and I'm thrilled.

I think that would actually make it more valuable since Princeton was THE Football powerhouse of 1890-1915 or so. Were they Penn's colors too?

I had complete sets of baseball & Western Hartlands at one time among other bobbing heads and the like. But the last few years have strictly been into Pre-War cards. Anyway I was at the Tri-star show today and bought these 3 pennants, I just saw them and liked them. I found the small Yankee's pennants in the book , but like to know more about them. I think there from 1934. Anyway the bottom pennant I couldn't figure out if it was a baseball pennant or advertising Pennant for Juke Box or what. After a little searching seems it's an advertising pennant for one of the most sought after Baseball Pinball machines ever made. The playing field even had names of stars like Dizzy Dean on it. I'm including a link to the website of the Pinball machine, Please check it out as it looks like a masterpiece as the website says. Just thought I would share it with you. <br />Anymore info on the pennants would be helpful. Something I never get tired of seeing. Dont think there is any one item I would rather have than that game. Simply amazing. That pennant is a really unique, cool advertising piece for the game. I think these photos probably originated from a former player since most of them were taken on the field or from the dugout.<br /><br />Just going by uniform numbers I see Bill Dickey, Red Rolfe, and Joe DiMaggio (wearing number 9 which he wore his rookie year.) I would ask them for their jersey(buy vintage money off ebay and than time travel). How much do you think they would sell their jersey to you for $3.00. Also im sure that is gehrig in the one photo. Look how close the camera man is to the batter and catcher, i wonder if they ever got hit by the baseball. Nice pickup
