Either way, once the best they can get out of a player are initials, they need to just give up on said player. They're supposed to be providing an autograph, not initialing a mortgage.

Rodman auto might be the worst I've ever seen.

Not the first time that sticker mishap has occurred and probably not the last.
there is a version of that type of card #/10 that features Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky and Steve Garvey. That is the only reason I know of this particular set. Many would probably argue that Garvey "ruins" the card featuring 2 HOFers from LA teams, but there probably isn't much of a better more common player that could represent the Dodgers as Garvey did throughout the 70s. Using Koufax however probably would have made it the best it could be (I would have been oblivious to the card). Then there is Sutton who got the HOF nod, but is there a more boring HOF out there than Sutton? I have only seen 1 offered and it was a redemption. That set just seems to be a mystery... |
Yeah, there was a time when Magic Johnson was signing some fabric swatches, and they handed him a stack with Texas Tech logos on them. Thinking the manufacturer knew what they were doing, he signed them. They they got used on a baseball card for some other player in the minor leagues at the time! ;-)
