Posted By: <b>Pennsylvania Ted</b><p>Some good answers to this Trivia ?<br /><br />GILBERT<br /><br />Good to hear from you.....your right....the term "walk-off" homer I think started with Kirk Gibson's HR<br /> in the 1988 Dodgers vs A's World Series (WS).<br /><br />It's the accepted "media buzzword" since that event, so I used it here to minimize the verbiage in my<br />Trivia question.<br />If I counted correctly, 8 of you have the correct answer. The one who most correctly answered this<br /> quiz is Steve Murray.<br /><br />But, as an avid Yankees fan.....I must disqualify him from winning the prize.....for 1st answering this<br /> quiz with Mazeroski. Normally, Steve you'd get a 2nd chance....but, that was a "BIG NO-NO".....ha !<br /><br /><br />An interesting side note to Tommy Henrich's HR in the 9th inning of the 1st game of the 1949 WS was<br /> the answer Casey Stengel gave the media. Until this event, Casey (in the 1923 WS, Giants vs Yankees)<br /> had hit the previous game winning HR in WS play....."What do you think of your boy Henrich stealing<br />your 26-yr old record from you ?"
