Question/opinion on value

I have a chance to buy this card.I know that it is low grade but it is the last card in the 1952 Topps baseball set.So I am sure it holds some value for that reason alone.I have included a scan of the front and back.PLMK what you think.
Thanks in advance for any guidance that you may offer.

I don't know, maybe $500-800 if real. I would rate it Poor-Fair, but probably presents nicer than more Poors, and would be comparable to a PSA 1.5-2 on grade.

Here's an Authentic that went for $1325. The other recent sales seem

Look at the scans of that one; the back has some major print defect going on with it.

Would you consider a card graded "authentic" better than a card graded a 1 or a 2. Or would that be more up to the individual's eye appeal. Thanks for your reply.

Some authentics can exceed what a regular psa 3 would even go for depending on the card. You got it..its about eye appeal.

My take is, I'd rather have a numerical grade than just an authentic grade, as to me, authentic means it's real, obviously, but something is wrong with it somewhere.

That's a nice card to have and every time I see one, I think of my Uncle who sold his.

Dale,I normally do not do much with baseball. But I am looking at a small collection latter this week and this happens to be one of the cards. And because I do not normally do much with baseball I thought I would ask for a bit of advise.I may not end up with the card because he may want more than I feel I can realistically pay for it. I know that everything he has is quite off grade. But this particular card has my interest because of being the last card in a set that is one of the most iconic sets' in the hobby.Thanks.

It's also a Hall of Famer rookie card, so it will always have demand.

Like Swarmee stated above, it is also his RC.

That, currently, is my most sought after 52 Topps card. I was hoping to do a trade, for my Beehives, around Christmas time with another member here who's brother also has one, and many other 52 Topps cards, but unfortunately, his brother does not want to sell any of his cards. :(

Well that is a much better copy than the one I may end up with.Looking at the condition,I would say that that would be an expensive card.Maybe he will change his mind and you may still end up with the card.Good luck. And yes it is his rookie and I am sure that is another reason why it is so pricey. Can you imagine if Mantle would have been the last card in the set.

That psa "authentic" has a very rare printing error on the reverse.

Last card in one of the most popular sets ever, his RC, and he is also a HOF'r.

I agree, that copy, will take more than just my Beehives to obtain, but I was hoping we could have done something. No word in quite a while from the guy interested in my Beehives, so at this point, I think I can just go back to dreaming again. :(

Never give up hope.If these cards are out there than someone will have one that suits you and you will get a deal done.Maybe even using your Bee Hives. Just need to find a hockey guy who has a Matthews that would sooner have hockey in his/her inventory.Good luck.
