Leon's Debut as an editor

I think Leon can do one or two more stories at the very least (Trucker Boy comes to mind)

who knows, maybe soon he'll be as famous as Al Rosen :)

Leon, good job, it was a nice article.

Lesson of the day: always work the deal off ebay.

Wow! Leon!

My lasting memory of a yard sale was when a woman actually stole a pair of my wife's shoes, ran to her car, and got away.

Philosophically speaking, I guess I would have been better off if my wife had still been in the shoes when they drove away...but, I digress.

On the other hand, is this guy finding Cobb, Mathewson, and Wagner.

"...someday, the odds will even out."

I'm still waiting...

I write a column there and didn't even realize Leon was my boss for a day.

Though I did notice an unexplained dock in my paycheck and a mop and bucket outside my office door with a note "Your duties now include janitor."

I didn't complain because I figured I could use the exercise and I only got the job in the first place due to nepotism. The main editor and I are both Green Bay Packers fans.

Now if someone could only tell me how to turn on the mop. I don't see a chord, so I assume it rubs on batteries.

You got off easy, my new job was to mow Leon's 5 acres after I left my day job :)

Lesson 2 of the day- Make a legitimate offer then let the seller enjoy the golden rule, which is "he who has the gold, rules". Or, each person can do it their way. I would have preferred doing the deal on ebay, personally. It would have afforded more protection but I wasn't in the arguing mood that day.

I grew up on a 2-1/2 acre yard in Wisconsin. My dad said after mowing the yard with a push mower several times in 90 degree heat, he decided to buy a riding lawn mower.

I had a girlfriend with one of those.

I meant versus just letting the auction play out. Was a good move on your part, great find!

When you said "Lesson of the day: always work the deal off ebay.", I didn't get that is what you were inferring. As I said, I would have preferred doing it on ebay. It wasn't my call.

Yeah, I wasn't advocating doing 5 figure deals at your local Denny's. :D

I'm sure Leon won't mind you using that.
