It does look like there's some fade/color bleed on the front, top border - but soaking or age/otherwise, still have not seen that one as a reason for the "A"

I guess it isn't ok to soak cards. I wonder if the winner will try to cross it to PSA.

I had a card I submitted to PSA come back altered stock which I believe was the result of soaking. My first and only battlefield purchase.

I highly doubt that's the whole story.

It doesn't say soaked in water, I would bet that the cardstock is noticeably altered if it was out of the tomb. Either pressed and too thin, brittle from chemical soaking or other.

I think the lower left corner is what caused it to get the "A" grade.

Good eye.

You're right, it does look bleached or erased.

Does the top border looked trimmed? Or no?

pawpawdiv9 04-05-2017 10:09 AM

Great info guys, that's the card I had planned to bid on. Thanks!

They have added an addendum that it is likely trimmed.

Addendum (4/5/17, 10:40 AM): SGC does not keep records regarding the reason a card grades the way it does, but further examination of this card after several bidder inquiries reveals that a very slight trim may also have contributed to the Authentic designation though we cannot be sure.

ok...will WAJO be next???? a little more sensitive an "alteration" over there!!

The fact that they don't keep a record of why a card grades the way it does is extremely interesting. Anyone know if this is just them or is it the same across the board with other TPGs?
