Goodwin winnings

Here's what I ended up with:

Anybody else win anything?

asphaltman 05-08-2009 05:10 AM

Nope. I went 0-fer. I was back and forth last night on going after the Plow's Candy PSA 8...in the end showed some restraint.

Doug:

Nice pick-up on the Mack and in pretty nice condition too. He's one of the tougher HOF'ers in the Old Judge series.

Matt 05-08-2009 06:11 AM

Congrats Doug! Some tough OJ HOFers you've picked up in the last 2 weeks.

Cobb/Lenox/PSA4

I was blown away by what this card went for. I had made a target
price for it and turns out my number was a joke. High end T206 cards
seem to do great with Goodwin.
Swung and missed on a couple Walter Johnson cards but at least I
was in the ballpark on those.

Got this for what I think is a good deal (SGC 50 VG/EX)

chiprop 05-08-2009 06:36 AM

prices of the cards I was watching were very strong.

Jason, stellar deal on that Cobb. Looks more like a 5 to me. Congrats.
Brian

Note the color

This was the only card I was serious about last night and had a much higher maximum bid laid in so it was nice to know that I won the card without any late night shennanigans. :D
It will be intresting to see this one in person when it arrives. I have an SGC 40Lobert with a pale yellow (gold) background but this one looks like it could be the one of a kind orange backgrounds. I have four or five of the "orangies", hope this will be another...

<a href="http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/trophybob/?action=view&current=lobert.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/trophybob/lobert.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br /><br />

barrysloate 05-08-2009 10:48 AM

The Lobert looks halfway between orange and gold. Maybe you've discovered a new color.

rman444 05-08-2009 10:50 AM

Bob better hope he hasn't. That would be 8 colors plus the m131s for the master set.

Only way I'll ever afford this one.

Attachment 310Couldn't resist a rare Ruth! And I give up on enlarging the immage. Sorry...

bmarlowe1 05-08-2009 01:16 PM

Gratefuldog3 - great Ruth photo - but you're aware that that's not Hooper and Henriksen in the photo?

gratefuldog3 05-08-2009 01:30 PM

Mark, That has been pointed out to me. Thank you for the info. All that matters to me is the image of Ruth. I love it!

I knew you'd pull the trigger. One of a kind card! Goes nicely with the BS you have squirreled away. Nice pick up!

Nice pick-up on the Ruth postcard. I would have "bid to win" if it was not missing a piece of the postcard.

philliesphan 05-10-2009 09:49 AM

Bob..

I'm pretty sure I was the conisignor of that E94, and I never had any thoughts that it was an orange variation...just gold.
