Doyle Nat'L

Looks like someone is trying to cash in on the high value set at the last REA auction.

Fake...

As most will already surmise, that Doyle is fake. Its the same one that was in a fake PSA holder, which the guy tried to sell to a friend of mine for big $$$.

Here is a scan of the same card in a PSA holder with fake label which the cert#'s were stolen to make it seem legit.

It looks to me that if that Doyle was soaked, a slender piece of paper that has the name, team and league would float up off of the rest of the card. I think that card has been assembled.

The Cobb is obviously fake as well. Amazing that bidders can't bother to at least look at the flip.

Must be a blurry scan :)

calvindog 06-01-2009 09:11 AM

Man, I don't know what the excuse is to bid on that Cobb -- yet it's already over 4K! This guy is a total crook.

John V 06-01-2009 10:03 AM

For those of us with less experience, why do you think the Cobb is a fake? I see the front as having straight lines and the back is at an angle. Is that what gives it away?

barrysloate 06-01-2009 10:11 AM

I don't believe that front/back combination is possible. Others know more about it though.

This is indeed a low moment in life

That Doyle card is an embarrassment, and insult to any decent low life card Doctor in existence. :)

Dr Koos has sent out word, that he does not know, nor does he want to be connected with this novice.

He considers this as a stain to those that struggle in the art of deceit.

poof

reported and poof.....it's gone.....at least ebay will listen to a few of us, sometimes.....

And yet the Green Cobb is still there. Ebay pulls an auction because the card is fake but allows his other fake cards to stay up! As for this card, the flip has different sized and incorrect fonts, the spacing is wrong, etc. The card is absolutely a fake.

Jeff

Ebay has told me they will not pull cards in a good grading companies holders. I will report this one too, as it is a fake holder, but I am not sure they will do anything. I get so tired of reporting these scams/fakes that I rarely even do it anymore. Another board member called me this morning and I told him I would report the Doyle so I did......lets see how the Cobby goes....regards

Leon 06-01-2009 01:02 PM

poof on the Cobby

I guess I have pull with someone.........Cobby is gone....

calvindog 06-01-2009 01:10 PM

Wow, good work.

You'd think that after ebay pulled about 30K worth of fake cards from the same seller that they would think, perhaps, that the seller might be bad and should be eliminated as well?

drdduet 06-01-2009 01:20 PM

Good work guys and thanks.

I told ebay, in my first report, that this seller had other bad item(s) up...but I guess until it was specifically reported they wouldn't look. Now, if I were ebay I would ban this guy permanently but my guess is that they won't......

Dr.Darren- your welcome.....

Smokey Joe 06-02-2009 05:09 AM

By the way...

The seller was on here, i can't remember if he was on old board or new. He tried to sell the Doyle on B/S/T if i recall. I think he goes by the name of Rick Smith(probably fake also).

autograf 06-02-2009 09:01 AM

Seems like Richard Head or some derivative would be a better name for him........
