Opinions on these E95's

Found these 4 four E95's for sale. Don't have any of these to compare and haven't owned any yet. These are the scans the seller sent me. He says they were his grandfather's. He says they are in plastic sheets , and the scratches are on the plastic. This is a craigslist ad, the guy is asking $1500 for the 4. They are close enough that I can go see them in person, but wanted to know what to look for and If anyone can look at these scans and save me the touble if they are obvious fakes. Thanks

They look okay, but buying baseball cards off Craigslist has proven to be very dangerous. I would proceed with extreme caution.

Agree with what Barry said.Barry-is it common for this set to not spell the names correctly?Shouldn't it be "Willett" instead of "Willetts",and "Mathewson" instead of "Matthewson"?I know there are incorrect spellings in the T206 set,so I'm sure there were in the E95's also.
The dimensions of the card should be 1 1/2" by 2 3/4".
Sincerely,Clayton

spellings

The spellings for the series are correct and the cards look ok from the scans. That being said, the asking price is fairly close to retail, depending on the technical grades. Also, as Barry said, anything on Craigslist really, really needs to be scrutinized......regards

Spellings

Thanks Leon, for bringing me up to speed on that.Always learning........:D

As Leon said, there are many spelling errors in all the sets. Mathewson spelled with two t's is a common one.

E95s

They look like authentic cards at first glance. The price is pretty good if there are no creases in the Matty and Plank. Craigslist worries me as a source because the seller can disguise their identity easier than ebay. If it turned out the cards were stolen or you had a concern once you made the deal, it might be difficult to get your money back.

The last photo looks to be in a screw down. I would wonder why two photos have one back ground and the third is different. I think if you can go look at them it takes a lot of the risk out of the deal.
