Reholdering of older PSA cases

Hi all. First time posting on boards. Lot of good info here. Seeing various threads on forgeries even in PSA cases, has made me relook at many of my cards. I've bought many nice '48-'70 PSA cards from big eBay sellers and known auction houses. In some cases, with the "old" holders/flips, I'm now considering sending to PSA to reholder. Either to appear new and/or to ensure that the card is good.

Question is... is there any value in reholdering to have cards in latest slabs/flips (assuming I sell someday)? Or is there more risk that if PSA DOES determine one has been altered, they will not reholder -- leaving me with a worthless card. The cards all look ok, and the slabs don't appear tampered, but some seem to have a bit more float than others and I just want to be sure.

Sorry if this is a beaten down topic. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I've used PSA's reholder service at the National several times to update older flips. It's more cost-effective to do this at a show to avoid shipping/insurance costs.
