How about game used FLANNEL JERSEYS?

Flannel would have been hell to play in, but it sure looks better than the modern poly jerseys.
Here are a few from my St. Paul Saints collection...and always looking for more :D Anyone else want to share? Thanks!! Chris |
Sweet. I only have a couple left - the Bussey,Iowa jersey shown in the town ball thread I started, and this one from Johnson City, Tennessee. I saved it after selling my collection, primarily because of the black ribbon and the fact that it fit me. The gold braiding is sort of unusual also.

That Johnson City is terrific (but so are the Saints!). Any idea of the year(s) or significance of the black sleeve stripe?

Well I was going to show some 50s/60s flannels. But since we seem to be going way back in time, here's a different twist. An early Bib Front Jersey from the 1800s...

I purchased this jersey in 2006. Turner was known to have taken great care of his personal collection.

Here are some of my WWII jerseys, all but the TransRon are flannel. The last one is Jack Phillips' Navy uniform.

A couple of my favorite minor league flannels --
1943 Jim Konstanty Syracuse Chiefs 1971 Oneonta Yankees -- was actually Bobby Cox's 1970 Yankees jersey. Greg |

The Wichita Indians jerseys I bought in Kansas. I've picked up probably 50/50 in Kansas and the internet. |
