Blunder19 09-21-2012 01:14 PM

+1, especially when they quote SMR "book value" in Ex/Mt and you're looking at a roach

brianp-beme 09-21-2012 01:56 PM

"I've got some vintage 80's and 90's cards I would like you to check out."

Brian

sycks22 09-21-2012 01:59 PM

"High book is X" even when the card is missing a corner and is drawn on.

4k6 09-21-2012 02:05 PM

Everytime I show someone a card, it's the same question..."How much did you pay for it?"

kcohen 09-21-2012 02:06 PM

"Taking offers"

Translated that means "ignore" to me.

vintagecpa 09-21-2012 02:24 PM

The cards are in amazing condition given their age.

Brian Van Horn 09-21-2012 02:29 PM

I sometimes have a hard time getting to the wording when the asking price is three steps beyond hallucination.

packs 09-21-2012 02:36 PM

I don't care what VCP says.

Bob Lemke 09-21-2012 02:39 PM

"Didn't you wait for your change?"

Selling my "grandfather's, dad's, ex-husband's, etc." collection...

olrac44 09-21-2012 05:18 PM

"Low Pop!!!!" to describe a 50's or 60's common PSA 8 - when the population is greater than 50+ on a PSA 8 common.

(I consider population below 10 to be low pop)

z28jd 09-21-2012 05:30 PM

It's a tie between "Where is your Babe Ruth card" and the disappointed "Oh" after I tell people he isn't in a set I collect. A close second place would be "What's your most expensive card" which is apparently a requisite for non-collectors to ask.

DHogan 09-21-2012 05:35 PM

When I'm looking at a card and ask the dealer how much. They say how much do you want to pay ? They get real mad when I say I don't want to pay anything for it. :p

kmac32 09-21-2012 05:50 PM

When I make an offer and the seller says "The book value is".

7nohitter 09-21-2012 05:56 PM

When someone says, "Rube who????"

That sounds like a guy I know that sets up at the National every year with awesome, one of a kind items that he "doesn't want to sell." Who would do that! ;)

Texxxx 09-21-2012 07:26 PM

It looks better in person. The scans don't do it justice.
