the second shot is my excel matrix to keep track. the red blocks are the cards in hand. the other colors are the cards still needed. the lower green blocks are what I paid for each card. Attachment 110849 Attachment 110850 |

Sean C:
That card is so awesome that it's disgusting. Ted: I always love seeing that Lundgren scrap, thanks for sharing. Chris: Thanks, as I'm sure you know --- that stuff takes a long time. To Danny's question, I use Paint, combined with software (Media Impression 2) that came with my Epson. The actual image is of rather high resolution, but I had to lower it to allow it to be uploaded here. I'd be curious to know what Chris uses to create his grids. |
Yeah that tinker is incredible! Thanks sean!
Thanks ted :) they take after thier dad :) |
I wrote a little Photoshop script to make grids of any size based on rows/columns and gutter width. I then digitally "cut" the cards out of their slabs and past them into the grid.
Saves time but MSPaint is fine. |
I wondered if you had manually entered code into some type of imaging software, seeing as how they always looked so gosh darn perfect! I've manually entered some conditional code into Excel for my spreadsheet to speed up organization, and I prefer it to Access but haven't dabbled with Photoshop. Though fairly competent, I can guarantee I am not nearly as proficient at it as you are. I could be wrong, but I'm assuming this was done on the full, "purchased" version?
Your way is definitely more time-efficient... MSPaint sufficed, but it sure took a good while. |
I still manually cut, straighten and clean up slab/edging on each f/b...takes awhile as you know, but the grid at least keeps everything evenly spaced and centred. Excel scripts really do help ;)
|
Progress as of January 2014 - 161 Total, seem to have hit a major slow patch, one of many I'm sure, but it doesn't help when I get outbid by $3000 on a Tinker
|
Now that is an impressive run!
|
Thanks Chris, seeing your multiple runs, as well as many other Net54 users' runs is what made me have the itch to go for it. Long way to go still, but am almost to the half-way point. I edited the grid while the wife drove on our way to a family gathering a couple of hours away, made me car-sick and nauseous as it always does - but well worth it...
|
Beautiful run so far...just awesome to have them set up like that!

Great run so far Nate. Good luck with the rest of them. :)

Great project, and fantastic layout! Well done!

Nate,
Nice work so far! Too bad it's for the wrong Chicago team... ;) |
Pirates Set
Thanks Guys, it is a great project. I am now up to 60 out of 209(+/-). I need to set up a graphic display like Nate, that is awesome! I will work on that and try and get it done this year.
Great Idea on the e90-2 Wagner substitute, thanks! I am afraid I tapped out all of the cards stashed away be relatives. I have one last hold out of hope, my wife has a great Aunt that lives in Pittsburgh in the family home they have owned since 1910. Her maiden name is "Clarke"! The wife told me she has an attic full of antiques. She stated that she is not related to Fred, but am hoping to root thru the attic just in case! Cliff |
Couldn't find any way to edit the thread title. I edited it in the first post, but it didn't change the Thread Subject display on main forum. I'll create a new thread. I wanted to try and include others in the posting of T205 and T206 runs.
