An authentic Mick and inscription.

I dont think I have seen a fake when he makes it out to a person.

Mr. Zipper 10-15-2013 06:25 PM

Looks okay to me, but was it signed with two different color inks?

shelly 10-15-2013 07:37 PM

Zip the signiture is perfect. He might have run out of ink.

I hear you. I had no concerns... Just curious if it was just a trick of the image or it was indeed two different colors. :)

Bigdaddy 10-15-2013 08:21 PM

two different inks

My bet is that the books were signed earlier by Mickey and that he did the inscriptions for folks at a book signing at a later date.

Yup yup... just like all those various, personalized Ali pamphlets.

What is the going rate for a Mick signed book without an inscription?

I'd bet about a buck fifty with-out and a buck 25 with.

with all the forgeries factored in the price points usually plummet and unless you find a couple of dopes named George in a bidding war, the inscription hurts it.

I thought your pricing would be low, Fudd, but a quick check of sold books on eBay shows numerous uncerted (but real), unpersonalized copies barely breaking $100. Shockingly low.

that's what I'm tryin ta tell ya ;)

I haven't followed for a while, but the gigantic influx of e-bays forgery selling machine has had a direct impact on the real ones, no doubt.

Thanks E-bay for being the forgers newest bestest friend:D

There is no doubt that the tsunami of fakes on eBay in the past 6 months has watered down supply and suppressed pricing on authentic exemplars.

That said, fakes on books are few and far between. I suspect it also has something to do with books becoming less of a desirable medium. It seems that today's collectors prioritize flats and balls with everything else a distant second.

I like signed books. :D
