Can I get an opinion on the authenticity of this T206 please?

I have never dealt with this seller before, and as far as I can tell, they are not members here. They offer quite a few pre-war and vintage cards, have a perfect feedback score, and have been on the bay since 2002.

The card looks right to me. The printing appears to be what I would expect for a 100 year old card. The lettering at the bottom appears correct, and the first letter of the city name is larger, as it should be. Two things raise a bit of a red flag: the slightly uneven corner wear, and a search on Google shows that he had what appeared to be a fake Mantle autographed ball up for sale earlier in the year, but it did not sell. It's possible he wasn't familiar with Mantle's auto (the sale stated it was part of a collection he purchased). So, I don't know. Thus, this post.

Opinions would be appreciated! Thanks! And yes, there is a return period.

All of the sellers cards appear authentic to me.

Ya, I was just looking through some of his 50s and 60s cards, which I have a lot more experience with. He seems to be fairly accurate in his grading.

Thanks, Sean!

it does look authentic. As you mention, the corners concern me a bit, particularly the one near the upper end of the bat.
I'm thinking trimmed--but it would still grade authentic.
all the best,

Barry, in looking through his other listings, it appears when he sees things like trimming, or creasing, he includes that in the title. He's selling a Nolan Ryan rookie, and has included "trimmed" in the auction description.

As long as I know it's a real card, I'm good. I would examine it up close, and the first thing I'd do is compare the edges to one another with my loupe.

Thank you!

Thank you Barry and David.

definitely authentic, could possibly be trimmed. I'm not sure.

Sweet looking Patee, Bill. Your first "horizontal"? (card that is) :) Dave:)

100% authentic. Possibly trimmed on the upper part of card. But a good looking card.

I didn't end up bidding on it, Dave. I'll find another.
