Help-Is this a scam?

Pondering this scenario, and I can't see what the angle would be.

When I sell cards on ebay, I include one of my business cards. Received a call yesterday from someone who says his son bought a card from me, and forwarded my info because he is looking to sell his collection.

So he sent pics of several cards he wants to sell. My standard procedure is to search ebay sold listings to get a feel for what the card goes for. I noticed that several cards in his pics were the exact same cards recently sold on ebay. Some graded, most were sold recently on a best offer.

It's late in the week, and I can't think of what the benefit of this is. Best case is that this person recently bought most of these cards, and is now looking to turn around and sell them immediately to someone who would be ebay savvy based on how he got my info. Things happen...emergencies arise that could necessitate selling them quickly. But odd.

What is the worst case scenario? Only thing I can think of is to generate false sales on ebay to make it look like the cards are worth more than they are. But most at least had a few other sales to compare.

Thanks for any opinions you might have.

I say if he is willing to send them to you before payment. If not, I would avoid it.

If he was indeed the buyer of these cards on ebay(and not an image thief), and the purchases were made within 14 days, why would he not just return them for a full refund if he was having a financial emergency. Something here does not seem right.

I agree with not making a deal unless he sends the cards to you before you send a payment, otherwise avoid.

My gut says no, just seems odd

Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it. Agree this isn't one where I'd send the $ before receiving the cards. Offered about 20% less than I normally would, so probably won't happen, which is fine with me.

If you have any doubts about a deal, don't go against your gut.
