$899 for a Reprint Wagner?

I know the guy says plainly it is a reprint but what is up with that PRICE??
Is he trying to create doubt in people's minds in hopes that someone will snatch it up?
I'm not sure I have ever seen a T206 reprint worth ten dollars much less nigh to a thousand.

Jason Mars and his local news station really caused a ripple effect in regards to aged reprints.

I saw another one for sale with a Drum 350 back. They didn't even TRY to get it right :(

Aged reprints are more scarce than non-aged ones. Supply vs demand :)

The seller is purposely misleading a potential buyer with "antique" in the listing title. He states that he knows little and is just a reseller. I assume he is looking for someone with more cents than sense. Somewhere out there, there is someone who thinks he knows what is doing or is at least willing to take a $900 shot in the dark, in hopes that the seller is wrong in his assessment. I mean, it is "aged" after all.

If eBay was worth a damn they would do a better job of filtering out the duff.

Its a decent looking fake that could be used as a filler card in a collection. I'd pay $899 for it. And by that I mean $8.99. :D

To me, a seller like this is an Enemy of the Hobby, just as is the case with whoever produced/aged the card. While I always assumed the death of the hobby would come from today's kids not being able to afford packs and not knowing who Lou Gehrig is, I wonder if it might really come in the form of counterfeiting technology surpassing the ability of experts to distinguish reals from fakes.

Another eBay sighting that pissed me off...you kind of have to see both at the same time to really get it:

What is scary about the buyers and bidders is that they can drive cars and vote. How stupid can these people really be?

This is the same guy who sold the fake T206 Cobb for $66 and the fake T205 Cobb for $46 last week.

Bocabirdman 11-14-2014 04:33 AM

I feel bad for the next generation of "Grandpa's attic" kids. They might actually be telling the truth as to where the cards came from, only to be crushed when they go to cash in on their inheritance. "Sorry guys, but your grandfather was a clueless sap....":D

He must have gotten scared because he cancelled it before it ended and relisted as a Reprint card. Maybe someone threatened him.
