Next card >$1000 you want to procure?

This topic may eliminate some from participating...but such is life....and this is AMERICA!

What card valued at $1000 or greater are you looking to acquire as soon as you can find it?

For me...it's an n43 Ewing or a Miller that I need for my run.

honus94566 01-27-2015 10:11 AM

Low graded CJ Wagner with good eye appeal. Preferably 1914 but would consider a 1915 as long as it's got some caramel staining so I know it came from a CJ box.

Bliggity 01-27-2015 10:19 AM

T205 Ty Cobb in VG condition to add to my set. Fifth biggest card in the set, will definitely be the most that I've ever spent on a single card.

Sean 01-27-2015 10:21 AM

A T215 Merkle/ Red Cross that would finish my run.

RGold 01-27-2015 10:26 AM

I need a 1933 Goudey Lou Gehrig #160 to complete my set. I have >$1,000 burning a hole in my pocket for the right SGC graded one. :D:D:D

ullmandds 01-27-2015 10:27 AM

Ronald...I've seen your Goudeys...you best keep saving $$$$! $1K will not cut it!!!!

Luke 01-27-2015 10:32 AM

I just need a nice crease-free Wagner to complete my e95 set. The last few that have come to auction just haven't been quite what I'm looking for. Looking for SGC 30-50 in case anyone has one available.

Well, I did write >$1,000. :D:D:D

But seriously, after passing on a lot of nice ones because of grade or price, now that I am one card away, I'm pretty motivated to make a deal.

Leon 01-27-2015 10:43 AM

over 1k....who knows? I have one in mind if I can pry it from someone. I don't really want to go into too much detail but it's not what I usually collect. It's of the Babe.

My current issue is that the cards I want are valued at <1000 but I'm not finding them even close to that price. I make offers and they refuse. That's okay though...I can wait. I'm using PSA SMR as my basis.

insccollectibles 01-27-2015 10:48 AM

No immediate plans for a card but looking for a unique T206

Old Judge Spud Johnson for me. I hope to track down an available one this year, but it's going to be a lofty goal.

I'd like to say a N173 Pud Galvin, but I'm not sure when even exists? So I'll resort to any N173 HOFer.

paulcarek 01-27-2015 12:49 PM

1934 Goudey Gehrig #37.

Although I wouldn't mind at all if the ">" was more like a "<".

When the Old Judge book was written, three were known to exist, all in museum collections. Don't know if that number has changed, but it's obviously very rare

chipperhank44 01-27-2015 12:53 PM

Mine's not really a card, but an April 1915 Baseball Magazine Christy Mathewson Supplement (preferably still in the Magazine) is what I currently have in my cross-hairs.

T206 Green Cobb - PSA 4 OR 5

bbcard1 01-27-2015 12:59 PM

I am looking for T206 Davidson Broadleaf to finish the back run. Although I would like a 1 or 2, I figure if I find one I will have to fund to the grade. The right 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson might tempt me.

kamikidEFFL 01-27-2015 01:01 PM

1934 Goudey #37 Lou Gehrig . Been waiting for this one and will a lil bit longer

jp1216 01-27-2015 01:05 PM

T206 Drum back. Beaters welcome.

packs 01-27-2015 01:27 PM

I'd like to get a beater Joe Jax.

bcbgcbrcb 01-27-2015 01:54 PM

A mid-grade 1939 Play Ball Ted Williams nicely centered and a mid-grade Leaf Jackie Robinson RC, also nicely centered, are at the top of my current want list.

SMPEP 01-27-2015 02:02 PM

Not pre-war, but ...

... a 1952 Topps Pete Reiser with a grey back. Any condition will do!

ajjohnsonsoxfan 01-27-2015 02:04 PM

1914 CJ Jackson in grade 1-3

Iron Horse 01-27-2015 02:13 PM

E253 Babe Ruth :)

the-illini 01-27-2015 02:14 PM

M101-6 Felix Mendelsohn HOFers that I do not have - although I would be happy to pay <1k for these as well... :-)

tab 01-27-2015 02:21 PM

Would like to add a Drum Charlie Rhodes to my Charlie Rhodes back run! Wishful thinking!:D

ullmandds 01-27-2015 02:23 PM

W600 Ty Cobb--- ready to make someone's day if they have one to sell or trade! I have plenty of comparable trade bait or will but outright.
