FS: 1869 Peck & Snyder Cincinnati Red Stockings card

Hello everyone. This is my first post on Net54! I wanted to reach out to this community about my recent acquisition. I have been a member of Blowout Cards for several years and you can see my positive feedback there (as well as a link to my eBay ID.) I recently won this card from a TRISTAR contest. Although I would love to keep the card, I need the wedding/house funds so I am advertising the card here (and to a few interested buyers) before I go down the road of auction/consignment. You can view the story behind this card at http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/b...card-real.html.

SOLD!

GREAT story!

You've come to the right place if you're looking for a buyer. If you don't get one here in the next few weeks/days/hours, I would strongly recommend one of the reputable Auction Houses. They would likely offer you quite a sweet deal (% of the hammer price) to have that card in their auction! It's an automatic marketing gold-mine for the Auction House, so you're doing them (and yourself) a favor by getting that card in front of as many people as you can.

Best of luck with the sale!

Nice card!

Don't waste your money on a house or a wedding. Keep the card.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm currently debating pursuing an eBay consignment seller versus pursuing an auction house. eBay will obviously have a the largest audience, but the auction house will certainly have the right audience so I'm still exploring my options. Any suggestions for particular auction houses?

I am still discussing taxes with my lawyer, so I'd rather not speak about it just yet :)

For eBay PWCC and Invest in Baseball are both great options. Other than that take a look at the many auction banners here on Net54. REA, Goodwin, Heritage, Brockelman, etc... That card would be best at one of the auction houses rather than eBay IMHO.

That's a really cool story. I purchased a similar box where you can get one of the rare cards and entered in the drawing, but the grand prize is a 1940 play ball joe jackson. Not quite on this level. Still waiting to find out if I won, but not holding my breath.

Congrats and good luck with the sale.

Great Story!

By the way, a good friend of mine, and someone who has studied these more than most, pointed out this is not a Peck and Snyder card (duh). It has no ad on it. These photos were distributed different ways but this is not a Peck and Snyder card. IT is 1869 (as far as we know) and the value shouldn't be affected. But the label is incorrect.
