I am not a ring guy but I do know replicas exist that look very similar/same to your's.

If you received it from a reliable source, that's one thing but if you got from someone you didn't know, then it is worth getting it checked out by someone in the know, and not just settling on one opinion.

Good luck.

P.S. There is hockey section further down.

they look real to me.

I'm an Islander fan and am lucky enough to own each of the 4 cup rings.

another way to help authenticate them is to provide pictures of the inside engraving.

Found out they were dean Chenoweth father's who worked for the islanders. What is the value of each ring. Any help would be great.

assuming they have the proper markings inside, the ring, and the diamonds are real, and they are a normal man's ring size, probably about $4,00-$5,000 each.

Classic Auctions last spring sold what appears to be matching examples from 1981-82 and 1982-83 that belonged to HOF goaltender Billy Smith, with the pair bringing just north of $50 000.00 combined. The 1981-82 example should have a 10k Balfour stamping along the inner band, while the ring from the following season should be stamped 14k along with "Balfour".

I hope this helps

great to see you back, Michael - I don't know sh!t about sports rings, but when there was a separate "rings" subcategory, I always read it and admired your knowledge in such a specified segment of the hobby.

thanks for the kind words. Writing a blog 5 or more times a week and working full time is challenging. Sorry I've not been around.

Thanks again!
