Just discussing these cards with someone privately. I can only think it's the centering on the 6.5? |
I won the 7.5. I don't get it either.

56's
crazy...look at the close up of top right corner on 6.5...missing the top layer of paper
|
I guess they bought the card, not the holder. :D:D

It's a very pretty card, but unless they intend to fix it and resell it, it seems a little odd.

hi bob
whats going on? anything new in your collection? |
The 52 Topps Mantle PSA 1 with "neatly placed" staple holes going for $20k+ and a SGC 2.5 copy for $13k+ will certainly skew some avg sales results for this card. Eye appeal, eye appeal, eye appeal......

I don't get it either, but wish I had been the consigner of the PSA 6.5! He's got to be happy.:)

And yes, Al, it's pretty. |
I saw that as well, and don't think it would bump enough to warrant a buy price of $10k+ - that is what the PSA 8's have been going for lately. Although with two recent sales of $12k and $13k on the 56 Mantle I think this card is going to settle in the $15k range soon. I remember two years ago at the National passing on some at $3600 and $3800 because of centering and other details - today those cars would be $9-11k. Sad thing was Natex had an 8.5 for $6750
