Allen "Al" Richter Baseball Memorabilia 1951-1959

I'm seeking any memorabilia for my father, Allen "Al" Richter, who played baseball from 1951-1959. In 1951-53 he played with the Red Sox, and throughout his career played with other organizations such as the Padres and Rochester. He turns 90 in two weeks and I'm trying to surprise him with any baseball memorabilia I can locate for his birthday. Years ago, all of his baseball memorabilia was stolen out of our storage locker in Virginia Beach, and I have spent the past fifteen years trying to recover or replace said items. If you have access to anything of his, please contact me at richter.jenn@gmail.com.

Thank you,
Jenn Richter

Hi Jenn
This was copied from another section so it can get more eyes on it. Best of luck in the quest!!

Did a quick ebay search. Just in case you haven't seen it, someone colorized a photo.

According to Beckett Baseball Card Alphabetical Checklist...

That's a great colorized picture provided by Marty. Unfortunately, there probably isn't a lot of stuff available, excepting minor league programs/scorecards or a team photo - which generally appear infrequently on eBay or other venues given the time period Al Richter played.

This link (baseball-reference.com) to his complete professional record may assist in pinpointing the teams for purposes of acquiring such items: http://www.baseball-reference.com/re...d=richte001all

According to the 1400+ page (11th edition, 2005) Beckett Baseball Card Alphabetical Checklist, Al Richter appeared on three cards (all of recent vintage):

2003 Jewish Major Leaguers (regular) #80
2003 Jewish Major Leaguers (gold) #80 - one is available for $6.95 postpaid on eBay at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Jewish-...rnYlwXjHjq53Yg
2003 Jewish Major Leaguers (silver) #80

A complete 2003 set of all 142 different cards (presumed to be the regular issue) is $32.99 postpaid at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Set...AAAOSwZQRYYtN8

(Neither offer is mine.)

Hopefully the Richter family will be successful in acquiring memorabilia of his Al's career. Sadly, we ran into a similar issue with relatives of Dale Mitchell (unfortunately no relation) a few years ago.

Richter is also found in the 1952 Globe San Diego Padres series, but it is a relatively difficult card to find

Tough indeed........

Here's a PSA 4 (POP 1) 1952 San Diego Padres PCL card that sold at auction in 2014 for $18. Good luck in locating cards and items for your dad. I'll keep an eye out also. Best wishes to your dad on his 90th birthday.
