T3 Turkey Reds - New Addition to the Master Set!!

2 Attachment(s)
Hello,

Very excited to announce that a new addition to the T3 Turkey Red Master Set of front and back combinations has been verified. This brings the total number of cards in the T3 Master Set to 253.

Roughly six years ago I was so happy to find a Dool"an" card with an Advertising Back. Until then, Dool"an" had only been found with a checklist back, and the Dool"in" variation carried the Advertising Back. I'd searched for nearly 15 years to find that combination. As an aside, I've since found another of these cards. That brought the list to 251.

About four years ago I was amazed to come across a Tenney-NY with an Advertising Back. Until then, the Tenney-NY had only been seen with the checklist back, and the Tenney-NY & Bos carried the Advertising Back. That brought the list to 252.

Recently, I was thrilled to find a Paskert-Cin with an Advertising Back. Similar to the two variations above, up until now, the Paskert-Cin had only been seen with the checklist back, and the Paskert-Cin & Phil variation was known to carry the Advertising Back. I've inspected Paskert T3s for nearly 20 years, not really expecting to find this card but knowing that it certainly was a possible combination. This brings the list to 253.

I'm very pleased to own each of these cards. There are a few possible cards that I continue to search for, but these have always seemed much less likely.

Thanks for indulging my fascination and appreciation of this most beautiful set. Finding something new after all these years is a real treat.

Happy Collecting!
Craig

Wow!

Very impressive, Craig! It's neat to find new combinations of backs/players even to this day. You definitely picked a great set to go after. ;)

Which T3 is your favorite in your collection?

Wow! That's very cool. Congrats.

Incredibly great news!!!!
You've done some masterful research in this arena for many years now.
The hobby is so fortunate to have your most astute, diligent and ground-breaking work on the T3s. Several years ago I bought a beautiful Paskert from you to go along with my matching Conlon photo and still have them both---framed and on the wall!
all the best,
Barry

lines on cards

i noticed in the recent RE Auction that almost all of the T3's (even with PSA 5 grades) had a print line just inside the border on at least one side and on 2-3 sides on some cards. i have many without this line....it doesn't seem to affect the PSA grade. i prefer to collect without these lines.

any idea what these lines are from and how common? are they a storage artifact for some collections of the cards? not sure how to upload the photos here, but you can just pull up any of the T3's in the recent auction to see them (a dark heavy line running the length of a side about an 1/8" in off the border.

thanks,
Paul

Nice job! I love it when something new is discovered. Of course, now I'm 252 cards short of the complete set.

Congrats Craig, on a great find. I too love it when we uncover something new from a hundred year old set.

As for the lines, my guess without looking, is they are printer marks.
