In today's game, Casey would be intentionally walked.

2 Years ago I was asked to give my take on "Casey at the Bat." Instead of showing the usual image the Mighty Casey striking out, I thought it would be fun to depict the entire Mudville 9 team in a large Victorian style poster like you would have seen hanging in a tavern back in the 1890's.

back in the 1980s (I think) the Stockton ports in the California league were known as the Mudville nine, and their logo was a caricature of Casey.

Stockton, CA and Holliston, MA have both laid claim to being Mudville, although I believe Thayer himself said it was purely fictional.
