1927 Babe Ruth Barnstorming - October 23, 1927 in California
 

It is cool to see the recent video that has surfaced with Babe and Lou in the fall of 1927.

I'm curious if anyone has any pictures/knowledge of events that took place on October 23, 1927. Babe and Lou played in two exhibition games (Oakland Park) and (Recreation Park).

According to newspaper reports, Ruth and Gehrig hit baseballs in a HR derby prior to the exhibition games that traveled out of the stadium and into the yards of adjoining houses.

I cannot find any stadium pictures and have been searching and searching as it pertains to a piece of memorabilia I own.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You can find images of both Oaks Park in Emeryville and Recreation Park in San Francisco online. The site of Oaks Park is actually the parking lot for Pixar Studios. In San Francisco, a few of the adjoining Victorian era buildings are still standing (as of a few years ago), in what would have been the center and right field walls
