new TPA

Anyone know anything about these folks

They're a lower-tier grading company that sprung up as a cheaper alternative to PSA during the pandemic.

To my knowledge, they don't do any autograph authentication.

Well, based on their website, the senior grading finalizer "started grading sports cards professionally in 2000. Since then, he has graded millions of cards"

So assuming the minimum of multiple millions, which would be 2,000,000 cards graded in 23 years, at 50 weeks a year, 5 days a week, 8 hours of grading per day works out to a card every 82.8 seconds.

So we know he's fast.

I posted due to seeing this card which I need signed by Willie but was alittle suspect of the signature. https://www.ebay.com/itm/40419451019...3ABFBMqvC8xNhh
This seller used to sell dozens of Sadaharu Oh signatures (dozens at a time which made me suspicious). He has 2 of this cards signed by mays above one raw and the one linked here.

That card is slabbed by a different company than the one you originally posted about. CCG vs CSG.

theshleps 03-09-2023 10:15 AM

I believe the slab company owns the other from what I could tell by searching

CSG cards is owned by Certified Collectibles Group (CCG). That slab is not associated with any part of Certified Collectibles Group.

CSG will slab heavily trimmed/damaged cards and heavily altered cards as authentic. I'm a big fan of them for that. If the card is authentic why not put it in the plastic? Kudos for that.

Also the slab clarity is superb, you might read that allot when researching about csg but its definitely true. Certainly the best clarity slab on the market and it's not even close. I'm a Big Sgc fan so It's hard passing up the clarity, but the tuxedo is still more appealing to me. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3da2fc1ebc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b47974d5a5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...920d536e18.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6392a74c03.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...85273d30db.jpg

Those pictures on their main page of their “ grading finalizers” is quite lame. Everything in this hobby now is about putting your face somewhere. Nobody cares who you are.

Doubt very seriously that the Mays autograph is authentic. Using a thick sharpie is usually a dead give away for a forgery.
