OT Autographed Gretzky Jersey - NSSC Program
 

Every now and then I will get a random email about helping someone find information. If they seem sincere I will usually try to help. So here is a cut and pasted email I received a few days ago.

Hi Leon.
I came across your website, and thought that MAYBE you could help me with something? I have a friend (who I'm trying to help) who bought an autographed, white Wayne Gretzky Oilers jersey (that Gretzky supposedly wore in either a print ad or commercial) at an auction in conjunction with the National Sports Collectors Convention back in either the late 1990's/early 2000's. He needs to get the jersey authenticated using a photo of Gretzky wearing the jersey. My friend remembers that the Auction House or that year's NSCC program/catalog (or both) had a photo like this, promoting the jersey. I don't know the exact year he bought it, and I don't know what auction house ran the auction.

I've been in touch with the NSCC, and apparently, back then, there wasn't an officially sanctioned auction house that worked in conjunction with the National. Eventually, they developed a relationship with Heritage; but back then, Mastro Auctions apparently ran some "unofficially" at the National. Well, we all know Mastro folded years ago, so I suppose I'm out of luck trying to find this Gretzky picture; but you never know who might know of a hidden archive or a National attendee who kept all of his programs, etc. So, THAT'S why I'm reaching out to you! Any chance you can help, or know of someone who might?
