Would appreciate any help on this 2007 Cubs baseball. On the one with the autos above who I believe is DeRosa, I am not sure if that is one auto or two but have indicated 2. Thanks.

First question mark under Felix Pie, Ted Lilly.

Under Lilly, Billy Petrick, clearly ran out of space. Also, sent to the minors during the season.

Third picture, Sweet Lou

Above DeRosa, Jacques Jones.

Below DeRosa, Jake Fox

Above Jason Marquis, Carlos Marmol?

Fourth picture might be a rushed sig of Cubs GM Jim Hendry.

The guess on Aramis Ramirez is correct (#16 below signature).

The sig below Ramirez is Derek Lee (below #16)

What you think might be Jason Kendall, I believe is Will Ohman.

Do you know if the ball was signed during spring training?

Above Sean Marshall is Glendon Rusch.

The one identified as Larry Rothschild is actually Ryan Dempster.

Under the Rawlings logo is Michael Wuertz, but it is upside-down in the picture which may be why you didn't recognize it.

The one you think is Felix Pie is actually Mike Fontenot. The question mark below him and to the left is Clay Rapada.

Likely Rusch's signature but Rusch was not on the roster in 2007.

Good catch on Wuertz. Didn't think about the possibility of the sig being upside down.

I do not know when this was signed - I got it via Love of The Game Auctions. All that came with it was the LOA from PSA. Thanks I appreciate your help.

Thank you for that. I was going by the number 17 not realizing Fontenot also wore that number sometime during the season. Thank you also for the Rapada.

Jim

so I am down to 2. The first could be Rich Hill or Felix Pie?

dgo71 06-09-2023 11:01 PM

The first is without a doubt Glendon Rusch. He was not on the active roster but was still with the Cubs in 2007. He spent the entirety of the season on the injured list with a blood clot in his arm.

Thanks again, down to one. I appreciate all your help.

A thought - since this ball was signed by Glendon Rusch and Jim Henry, is it possible this is a ball from the 2007 Cubs Convention since Rusch was released the end of January?
